Hoisting in the new energy efficient heating system for Jeremiah’s Inn!
These energy efficient blinds are our new project. Multi-layered, they provide a seal that will reduce loss from windows during the winter, and keep heat out in summer! Every low-income provider should consider them as a cost-saving measure.
As a component of new efficiency work, WGLIHC has secured new weather sealing curtains for windows at a partner property, expected to lower costs by 18% if utilized properly.
We are pleased that we were able to work with and secure insulation and air sealing for WCG properties, totalling over $12,000. WGLIHC looks forward to working with additional properties in the new year!
Last week, WGLIHC helped connect four older properties at two partner agencies with complete energy assessments and recommendations for overhauls, for family housing and family homeless shelter.
We look forward to working with Advocates in the future as a new member of our work!
WGLIHC has worked closely with environmental and energy efficiency advocates since May on creating a draft plan for the Affordable Access Working Group – the draft is nearing completion!
